Reed David Hazen is our greatly loved friend, brother, and son, who sadly passed away on December 3, 2016. A 2013 graduate of Liberty High School and the Arts and Humanities Academy, Reed pursued his passion for music at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, where he earned his Audio Engineering certification. He was an active and talented musician—performing, recording, and sharing music with those around him.

In honor of his son, Reed’s father established the Reed Hazen Scholarship Foundation (RHS Foundation) to support high school students pursuing music degrees in college. Since its founding, the RHS Foundation has awarded scholarships to help young musicians turn their dreams into reality.

While our commitment to honoring Reed’s legacy through music remains unwavering, this year we are proud to dedicate our fundraising efforts to a cause especially close to our hearts—The Bear Fund of the Cancer Support Community. This initiative provides critical emotional and social support to families navigating pediatric cancer. By expanding our impact this year, we hope to continue Reed’s spirit of love, healing, and compassion in a new way.

We continue to believe in a future shaped by creativity, empathy, and resilience—whether through the transformative power of music or the strength of community during life’s most difficult challenges.

The Reed Hazen Scholarship Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. A portion of the contributions is tax-deductible. Tax ID #82-4439624.
